very well written with clear examples and possible reasons for the set-back on adopting EV's. Like in the article (part 2: Future Bet) mentioned, for OEM's & Suppliers it's always a challenge where the market (Buyer behaviour) is heading. Some players wanted to enter into a Blue ocean (to clearly differentiate their own brand) but later they realize the market is heading in the different direction. Bottom line, I agree with the S-curve concept that the innovation/Disruption will take place in Auto Industry and it's the need of the hour for incumbent players to seriously tackle this challenge and survive. One thing for sure, due to this disruption the existing entry barrier for new players in the Auto Industry will be substantially reduced.
